Obverse description The obverse features the national emblem of the People's Republic of China centrally displayed within the scalloped field: Tiananmen Gate rendered in fine detail beneath a large five-pointed star flanked by four smaller stars, all encircled by a wreath of ears of grain tied with a ribbon at the base. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs in raised Chinese characters around the upper periphery of the coin. The date 2023 appears in the lower exergue in Arabic numerals. The entire design is executed in brilliant proof finish against a polished field, with the decorative scalloped border forming an integral part of the composition.

Additional information

China's Lunar New Year silver program, running continuously since 1981, completed its third full 12-year cycle with this issue. The 2023 rabbit strikes are among the higher-mintage entries in the modern series, though the People's Bank of China does not publish official figures — secondary market pricing has historically been a more reliable indicator of actual supply than any announced allocation.
