China's lunar silver program has issued Pig-year coins in several iterations, but the 2019 series marked the beginning of a new twelve-year cycle — the first Pig issue since 2007. The People's Bank authorized a mintage of 60,000 pieces for the colored variant, considerably tighter than the non-colored issues struck in the same year.
