正面铭文 中华人民共和国 1992
背面描述 The reverse features a naturalistic scene of Oriental white storks (Ciconia boyciana) in a wetland habitat. A large stork is depicted in full flight with wings outstretched at center, while a second stork stands at lower left among reeds and water grasses, and a third bird is shown in flight toward the upper right. The Chinese characters 白鹳 (White Stork) appear in the upper left field, and the denomination 10元 is inscribed to the right. The scene is finely engraved with detailed feather texturing against a deeply mirrored proof background.

附加信息

China's silver wildlife series of the late 1980s and early 1990s was partly a foreign-exchange initiative — these coins were produced explicitly for export sale rather than domestic circulation, targeting Western collector markets hungry for panda alternatives. The White Stork issue arrived as the red-crowned crane had already anchored the wildlife series, and the stork selection reflected a deliberate push toward IUCN-listed species to add conservation credibility to the commercial programme.

Struck at the Shanghai Mint, this issue is frequently found with hairlines from improper handling at the point of original packaging — a recurring quality-control complaint documented across the 1991–1993 wildlife releases.
