The Nymph of the Luo River series drew from Cao Zhi's third-century prose poem, one of the foundational texts of Chinese literary romanticism, describing his vision of the goddess Zhen Mi on the banks of the Luo. The 1999 issue was part of a broader push by the People's Bank to develop thematic collector series rooted in classical Chinese literature and mythology — a deliberate cultural program that expanded aggressively through the late 1990s.
KM#1264 is among the harder Flying Dragons sub-issues to locate with original packaging intact.
