| Reverse description | The copper-nickel inner disc features a finely detailed landscape of Sanjiangyuan National Park, depicting a Tibetan antelope (chiru) standing prominently in the left foreground amid alpine grasses, with a broad river valley, wetlands, and snow-capped mountain peaks receding into the background; a group of yaks is visible in the middle distance to the right. The brass outer ring carries relief imagery of the park's flora and fauna including flowers and additional wildlife, with the denomination 10元 incused within the inner field. The Chinese legend 三江源国家公园 (Sanjiangyuan National Park) is inscribed along the upper arc of the outer ring. |

Sanjiangyuan — "Three River Source" — sits on the Tibetan Plateau and feeds the headwaters of the Yangtze, Yellow, and Mekong rivers. China designated it the country's first national park under its new national park system in October 2021, following decades during which the region had been administered as a nature reserve with considerably weaker protections. This coin is part of a broader commemorative program tied to that designation, with the national park series functioning as much as policy messaging as numismatic issue.
