| Obverse description | Central device depicts a frontal view of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, rendered in fine relief with its triple-tiered circular roof, marble terrace, and flanking balustrades. The architectural composition is enclosed within a raised inner circle, with the Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcing along the upper periphery of the border.
