Aanvullende informatie

The 1997 Panda gold series was struck during the handover year of Hong Kong, though the coins themselves carry no reference to that event — the Panda program had by then become a reliable annual bullion issue with a collector following built since its 1982 introduction. Each year's design change was a deliberate policy of the People's Bank of China, kept in place specifically to drive annual collector demand rather than generic bullion accumulation.

KM#987 corresponds to the 1/10 oz denomination struck at the Shenzhen Guobao Mint, one of several facilities authorized to strike Pandas in this period, identifiable by a small "SZ" mint mark.
