Qingdao hosted the 2014 International Horticultural Exposition from April through October, drawing participation from over 100 countries and international organizations across a 246-hectare site on the northern shore of Jiaozhou Bay. China has issued commemorative silver for virtually every major international exposition held on its soil since the 1990s, and this piece follows that pattern — produced by the People's Bank of China under its standard commemorative authorization framework.
