Reverse description The reverse presents a highly detailed proof relief of the interior of the Palace of Heavenly Purity (乾清宫, Qianqinggong), one of the principal throne halls within the Forbidden City. At the centre, the imperial dragon throne is depicted in elaborate relief, flanked by ornate ceremonial censers, candelabra, and decorative columns surmounted by dragon motifs. Above the throne, a placard bearing the four-character inscription 正大光明 (Uprightness and Brightness) is prominently rendered within a decorative frame. The denomination 10元 appears in the lower left of the field, while the inscription 乾清宫内景 建于明代 is positioned to the right, identifying the scene and attributing its construction to the Ming dynasty.
