| Obverse description | The face is printed in dark purple-grey on a multicolour guilloche underprint, with two large intaglio-engraved agricultural vignettes flanking a central medallion: at left, peasants thatching a roof and working in rice paddies, and at right, a rural courtyard scene with figures engaged in threshing and domestic tasks. The central medallion carries the large Chinese characters 拾圓 (Ten Yuan) within an ornate rosette, surmounted by the bank title 中國農民銀行 in bold Chinese script at the top. Denomination numerals 拾 and 圓 appear in the outer corners, and a text panel below the medallion bears the promise-to-pay legend in Chinese. |

The Farmers Bank of China was established in 1933 primarily to channel agricultural credit into rural areas, though in practice it quickly became absorbed into the broader Nationalist government apparatus and functioned alongside the other three government banks — Central Bank, Bank of China, and Bank of Communications — as part of Chiang Kai-shek's 1935 banking consolidation.
De La Rue's London production gives the note a print quality sharply above what Chinese domestic presses were delivering at the time. The 1935 series predates the fabi currency reform of November that same year, which nationalized silver and made notes like this the legal backbone of a dramatically restructured monetary system almost immediately after issue.
