Obverse description Portrait of Li Hung-chang in an oval vignette at left, rendered in fine intaglio engraving against a complex guilloche underprint in violet and orange. The large Chinese character 拾圓 (Ten Yuan) is centered in bold letterpress, flanked by an oval vignette of a traditional Chinese tea house at right. The note carries Shanghai branch designation vertically on both side margins, with denomination repeated in Chinese characters throughout the decorative border.
