| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central device features the national emblem of the People's Republic of China — Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars, encircled by ears of grain and a cogwheel — rendered in high relief against a polished field. Decorative cloud motifs in low relief occupy the lower left and right portions of the field, lending an ornamental border to the design. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) is inscribed in Chinese characters along the upper periphery, while the date 2010 appears in the lower exergual area. |

Dian Wei was a bodyguard general under Cao Cao during the late Han dynasty, killed at the Battle of Wan Castle in 197 AD while holding off enemy soldiers single-handedly to allow his lord to escape. His death is one of the more celebrated acts of personal sacrifice in Chinese military history, and his inclusion in this series reflects the broader cultural rehabilitation of the Three Kingdoms period figures that accelerated sharply after the 2010 release of John Woo's film Red Cliff and the enduring popularity of the Dynasty Warriors game franchise.
