Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Sun Yat-sen at left, rendered in fine line engraving against a light guilloche underprint. At centre, an ornate rosette vignette contains the large Chinese characters 拾圓 (Ten Yuan), surrounded by intricate lathe-work. Two red chop-seal overprints appear below the central vignette, and large denomination characters 拾 are repeated in each corner.

Reverse description Central vignette to the right presents a detailed intaglio view of a traditional Chinese palatial hall — identified as the Hall of Supreme Harmony within the Forbidden City — set amid stone terraces and flanking trees, printed in teal-green. A large scalloped guilloche panel occupies the left, reserved for the watermark. Two serial numbers flank the facsimile signatures of the Asst. General Manager and General Manager below the vignette, with the year date 1936 in a decorative cartouche at foot.
