| Obverse description | Central field features a finely detailed coiled dragon rendered in high relief within a circular medallion, depicted in the classical Chinese imperial style with scales, claws, and flowing whiskers fully articulated. Below the dragon medallion, stylized wave motifs in low relief span the lower portion of the field, evoking the traditional motif of the dragon emerging from the sea. The date 1997 appears in a recessed cartouche at the base of the waves.
