| Obverse description | Central view of the Wanghai Lou (望海楼), a multi-tiered traditional Chinese pavilion rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field, set upon rocky outcroppings with stylized vegetation at the base. To the left of the building, the Chinese characters 望海楼 identify the structure, while a small circular decorative emblem appears to the right. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs around the upper portion of the coin. Below the central motif, the inscription 第一届世界女子足球锦标赛 (1st World Women's Football Championship) appears in Chinese characters, with the date 1991 beneath it. |
