Reverse description Dark blue intaglio vignette of the Goou Jinja Shinto Shrine rendered in fine detail at center, surrounded by an elaborate oval guilloche border with large denomination numeral counters "10" in ornate rosette frames at left and right. The Bank of Japan title inscription appears in Japanese characters at the top, with the denomination "拾圓" (Ten Yen) in a decorative cartouche at the base. The overall design is printed on a pale yellow paper ground with light underprint scrollwork.
