Obverse description Dark olive-grey intaglio print on cream paper. The central vignette presents two confronting imperial dragons amid swirling clouds, with the large kanji denomination 拾圓 (Ten Yen) between them at centre. The chrysanthemum imperial seal of Japan occupies the top centre, flanked by intricate guilloche cornerwork; the main title inscription runs horizontally above the dragons, and a red circular official seal is applied to the lower-left field. Denomination numerals '10' appear in the lower-left and upper-right corners, with kanji equivalents in the opposing corners.
