| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field features depictions of two medieval architectural monuments, rendered in raised relief against a smooth field. The curved legend 'ESSAI - PATTERN - PROBE' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, identifying the piece as a trial or pattern strike. The date '2014' appears in the lower exergue. The overall design references Latvian medieval heritage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a stylized depiction of a medieval gross, presumably modelled after a 1/24 thaler struck at the Riga mint under Gustav, surrounded by decorative striped elements in the field. The denomination '10 XEROS' appears prominently, with the subdivision 'CEROS' inscribed below. The design combines historical numismatic imagery with the fantasy currency denomination in a bold, legible layout. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Latvia re-adopted the lats as its sovereign currency after independence in 1922, but by 2014 the country had already surrendered it permanently — joining the eurozone on January 1st of that year. Any Latvian-issued nickel bronze coinage dated 2014 warrants scrutiny as to its actual monetary function, since lats-denominated circulation coinage had effectively ceased.
"Xeros Ceros" does not correspond to any recognized Latvian denomination or numismatic series in the standard references. Verify issuer documentation before cataloging further.
