| Obverse description | Central device features the national emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, depicting Mount Paektu framed by a red star above and sheaves of rice on either side, all within an oval cartouche. The Korean inscription 조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행 (Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) arcs along the upper periphery in Hangul script.
