| Reverse description | A detailed depiction of the Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) of Lucerne, Switzerland, occupies the central field, rendered in high relief against a stylized background of water and clouds. The famous medieval covered wooden footbridge is shown with its characteristic octagonal Water Tower (Wasserturm) to the left, the bridge's distinctive pitched roof extending to the right, and the pilings reflected in the rippling waters of the Reuss River below. Eight eight-pointed stars flank the design symmetrically along the inner border. The legend 'KAPELLBRÜCKE' arcs along the upper periphery, 'WONDERS OF THE WORLD' along the lower periphery, and the date '2009' appears in the exergue. |
