Reverse description The reverse features a two-toned inset design set within a recessed circular field. A detailed depiction of the Parthenon atop the Acropolis of Athens dominates the upper portion of the inner field, rendered in a antiqued golden-brown finish contrasting with the polished silver outer border. Overlapping the architectural scene in the lower portion of the inset is an engraved representation of a Greek drachma coin, inscribed 'ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ' and 'ΔΡΑΧΜΑ', commemorating the final issue of that currency. The surrounding legend 'FINAL ISSUE OF THE GREEK DRACHMA' arcs around the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, while the date '2002' appears at the base flanked by five-pointed stars.
