Vanuatu has issued a long series of small-format gold pieces tied to international cultural institutions — essentially bullion-adjacent collectibles produced for the numismatic export market rather than domestic circulation. The Guggenheim issue belongs to that category entirely. These were never intended to pass through anyone's hands as currency.
