Obverse description Mature bearded effigy of Ferdinand II facing right, with short curly hair and a trimmed beard rendered in fine detail. The portrait is unadorned and presented as a bare-headed bust truncated at the shoulder. The circumferential Latin legend reads FERDINANDVS II.D.G.REGNI VTR.SIC.ET HIER.REX, denoting his title as King of the Two Sicilies and Jerusalem by the Grace of God.
