Obverse description Printed in blue and orange on white paper, the obverse carries an intaglio portrait vignette of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar in full military uniform at right, set within an ornate frame of interlaced guilloche scrollwork with decorative corner motifs in script numerals. The central field bears the denomination in large Persian calligraphy within a medallion underprint, flanked by a circular blank panel at left reserved for the branch payability overprint. Two manuscript signatures appear at the lower centre, with the printer's imprint of Waterlow & Sons, London along the bottom margin.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red-orange on white paper, the reverse is dominated by a large bold numeral 10 at centre within an elaborate guilloche medallion, flanked by a circular panel bearing the word TEN in ornate lettering at left and a blank circular panel at right. Serial numbers appear in all four corners, with the bank name across the top register and the denomination legend TEN TOMANS along the lower border, the whole enclosed within a finely engraved decorative frame.
