Obverse description The obverse displays a multi-line Persian commemorative inscription arranged in a central cartouche, reading in Nasta'liq script and commemorating the fiftieth year of Naser al-Din Shah's reign. The inscription is surrounded by an elegant wreath of olive branches rendered in high relief, encircling the entire field. A fine beaded border runs along the inner edge of the coin. The date 1293 (AH) appears in the lower portion of the central legend. The composition is characteristic of Qajar court calligraphic artistry, with the inscription filling the field in a decorative, flowing arrangement.
