| Obverse description | The state emblem of the Mongolian People's Republic (1960–1992 type) is depicted in the centre of the field, featuring a mounted horseman galloping left across a landscape, set against radiating sunbeams, surmounted by a five-pointed star and flanked by wheat sheaves tied with a ribbon bearing the Cyrillic abbreviation БНМАУ.
