Reverse description A draped female allegorical figure, representing the Liberty of Holland, stands in three-quarter view facing left, leaning with her right elbow on an ornately decorated column upon which rests an open Bible. In her raised left hand she holds a long spear or staff topped with a broad-brimmed hat of liberty. Her drapery falls in elaborate folds to the ground, and the figure is rendered with fine baroque detail. The circular Latin motto legend is distributed around the periphery within a toothed border.
