Obverse description The Bulgarian state coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a rampant lion on a horizontally striped shield, flanked by two crowned lion supporters standing atop a decorative mantle. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown with crossed lances behind it, and a flowing ermine-lined cloak forms the mantling. A scroll ribbon beneath the shield bears the national motto in Cyrillic. The legend БЪЛГАРИЯ arcs across the upper field, and the coin is bordered by a continuous beaded inner rim.
