Additional information

The golden eagle holds particular cultural weight in Kyrgyzstan beyond mere national symbolism — falconry with trained golden eagles has been practiced by Kyrgyz nomads for over two millennia and remains a living tradition, with the annual October hunting competitions in Ölgii drawing practitioners from across Central Asia. The National Bank issued several wildlife-themed silver pieces around this period as the country built out its commemorative program in earnest.

KM#38 is among the more accessible issues from this series, with mintages modest but not scarce.
