Law 10535 of 1943 authorized the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú to issue a redesigned sol series, though notes under this legislation continued printing well into the 1950s — a gap between authorization and production that was entirely routine for mid-century Peruvian monetary administration. Giesecke & Devrient, then still operating under divided postwar conditions between its Leipzig origins and Munich production facilities, handled the work from Munich. The black obverse printing is characteristic of the earlier G&D runs in this series before the palette shifted in later issues.
