The Banco Central de Reserva del Perú turned to the American Bank Note Company repeatedly through the 1930s and 1940s — wartime conditions had made European printers inaccessible or unreliable, and ABNC was the default for much of Latin America during this period. Peru was no exception. The P#67A series ran across six years, a span that reflects both the stability of the sol during this period and the absence of any monetary disruption severe enough to force a redesign.
The watermark is the sole security feature — relatively modest for the era, though consistent with ABNC's standard output for mid-denomination regional issues of the 1940s.
