正面描述 The obverse carries a central allegorical vignette with a figure accompanied by a globe and a herald angel in flight, flanked to the left by a seated female allegory and to the right by a portrait vignette of a young woman in Victorian style. The denomination numeral '10' appears in ornate frames at the upper corners, with a guilloche underprint bearing the repeated word 'DIEZ' running across the top and bottom borders. The central letterpress inscription reads 'EL BANCO DE TRUJILLO' above the payment clause 'Pagamos a la vista al portador DIEZ SOLES en moneda CORRIENTE', with a large ornamental '10' overprint across the centre.

备注

Banco de Trujillo was one of several regional Peruvian banks that emerged following the 1872 Ley de Bancos, which briefly liberalized private note issuance in Peru before the fiscal catastrophe of the War of the Pacific forced nationalization and ultimately collapsed most provincial banking entirely. Trujillo's bank never achieved the reach of Lima's larger institutions, and notes from this issuer are scarce today largely because circulation remained geographically limited to the northern coastal region.

The American Bank Note Company held contracts with numerous South American banks during this period, supplying finished notes to issuers who lacked domestic printing infrastructure. The ABNC's New York production is generally identifiable by plate quality, though the specific engraving details for this series are not well-documented in surviving ABNC archive records.
