Obverse description Crowned heraldic shield of manifold quartered arms, featuring a central oval escutcheon bearing the Bourbon dynastic arms. The mintmaster's initials appear divided at either side of the shield, with the date incorporated at the end of the surrounding Latin legend. The composition is rendered in a baroque heraldic style typical of late 18th-century Italian principality coinage.

The design is rendered in a bold, provincial baroque style characteristic of Duchy of Piacenza coinage of the period.
