Aanvullende informatie

Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 but remains unrecognized by any UN member state. Its coinage is therefore a practical curiosity — technically the output of a central bank with no international standing, yet circulating domestically as functional currency. The 2006 zodiac series, of which this is one piece, was issued in twelve types corresponding to the astrological signs, a format that had no particular cultural precedent in the region and was almost certainly designed with collector export in mind rather than local demand.
