| Opmerkingen |
Bermuda's pre-decimal paper currency was issued directly by the Bermuda Government rather than through a commercial bank, an arrangement that persisted until the Bermuda Monetary Authority took over in 1969. Bradbury Wilkinson, working from their New Malden facility, printed the entire colonial series to a high intaglio standard — their contract work for British dependent territories during this period was extensive, and Bermuda's notes benefited from the same quality of plate engraving applied to many Caribbean and Atlantic island issues of the 1950s and 60s.
The series straddles the final years of Elizabeth II's early reign, running until Bermuda decimalized in 1970. Notes from the later end of the date range are generally more common; earliest-dated examples within Pick 19 attract proportionally stronger collector interest.
