| 备注 |
The British Military Authority notes were introduced for use by Allied forces in liberated territories to prevent the local absorption of occupying-power currency — specifically to stop Axis forces from using legitimate Allied military pay to extract goods or intelligence from civilian populations. The BMA series circulated across North Africa, Italy, and parts of Northwest Europe depending on the theater.
De La Rue printed the series under wartime security conditions. Forgery by German intelligence was a genuine operational concern, and the notes were demonetized swiftly once stable local currencies could be reinstated — hence the tight 1942–1947 window.
