正面铭文 BANK OF NEW ZEALAND INCORPORATED BY ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON DEMAND WE PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER TEN SHILLINGS WELLINGTON FOR THE BANK OF NEW ZEALAND TEN SHILLINGS
背面描述 Printed in brown with an elaborate guilloche border and rosette underprint filling the entire field. The New Zealand arms appear within a central oval vignette, surrounded by symmetrical geometric lacework patterns and floral medallions typical of Bradbury Wilkinson's engraving style. No text inscriptions are present on the reverse, consistent with the 'without text on back' variety.

备注

The Bank of New Zealand was a private institution when this note was issued — it did not come under government ownership until 1945. The "Without text on back" designation distinguishes this from later printings of the same Bradbury Wilkinson plate series that added a back overprint, making the two varieties superficially similar but catalogued separately.

Bradbury Wilkinson's New Zealand work from this period is generally well-executed intaglio, and the 1920 dating places this note in the post-WWI adjustment years when New Zealand's trading banks were still issuing their own currency alongside government notes — a dual system that ran until the Reserve Bank Act of 1933 ended private note issue entirely.
