| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a classical figural representation of Aquarius, the water-bearer, shown as a kneeling human figure pouring water from a vessel, rendered in low relief. To the upper left, a stylized sun symbol is present, and to the right, the Aquarius zodiac symbol appears in the field. The legend 'AQUARIUS' arcs across the upper portion of the coin in bold Latin lettering, and the date '2006' is inscribed at the bottom of the field. A beaded border frames the entire design. |

| Additional information |
Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 but has never received international recognition, leaving the Bank of Somaliland operating outside the global banking system entirely. This coin circulated in a functional economy that most international institutions officially pretend does not exist.
