Obverse description Printed in red on a light guilloche underprint, the obverse carries a central vignette of a group of sheep at left, set against a landscape background. The denomination 10/- appears in large numerals within an ornate guilloche roundel at centre, flanked by serial numbers at upper left and right. Trilingual inscriptions in Afrikaans, English, and German run along the top and bottom margins, with two manuscript signatures and a date stamp below the central vignette.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red, the reverse is dominated by a large circular vignette at centre containing a sailing ship on open water, enclosed within a ring bearing the legend BARCLAYS BANK D.C.O. An ornate guilloche border frames the entire note, with denomination panels in all four corners and trilingual denomination inscriptions along the lower register. The printer's imprint of Waterlow & Sons Limited, London, appears in small lettering at the bottom centre.
