| Opmerkingen |
Cyprus was still a British Crown Colony in 1953, and this note was issued under the Commissioner of Currency rather than a central bank — an administrative structure that persisted until independence in 1960. The Colonial treasury framework meant De La Rue produced the notes to broadly familiar British colonial specifications, with sterling denominations rather than any local unit.
Rich's tenure as Commissioner was brief, which limits the date range for his signature considerably. Notes from this window are less frequently encountered than the later Cypriot pound issues that followed independence.
