Obverse description Dark blue intaglio print on a pale yellow-ochre underprint. A central oval vignette at left contains an engraved view of the Rock of Gibraltar with the sea at its base, captioned TEN SHILLINGS in the lower border of the oval frame. The upper portion carries the issuing authority legend ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF GIBRALTAR and a reference to the Currency Note Ordinance 1934, with the denomination TEN SHILLINGS in a guilloche cartouche at centre-right. The four corners bear the shorthand value 10/-, and the serial number and date of issue appear in the lower field alongside the manuscript signature of the Treasurer.

Reverse description Printed entirely in dark blue intaglio on uncoloured paper, the reverse is dominated by three large guilloche rosettes arranged horizontally. The two outer rosettes each bear the numeral 10 over the word SHILLINGS in a central panel, while the central rosette frames the Gibraltar coat of arms — a castle with a key suspended below — set within a shield. A ribbon beneath the shield carries the motto MONTIS INSIGNIA CALPE. Fine lathe-work borders and ornamental corner pieces complete the design.
