正面描述	At left, an intaglio vignette of a kiwi bird standing in a landscape, with Maori carved panels flanking both sides of the note. The New Zealand coat of arms appears at centre, with the denomination '10/-' printed in each upper corner. At right, an oval portrait vignette of Maori chief Tawhiao in traditional dress, rendered in intaglio. The promise-to-pay legend, issuer title, and date appear across the centre of the note, with a facsimile Governor signature below.

背面描述	The centre of the reverse carries a large landscape vignette of Milford Sound with Mitre Peak reflected in the calm waters, printed in red on a guilloche underprint. Two circular guilloche rosettes bearing the denomination '10/-' are positioned at left and right. The issuer name arches above the central vignette, with 'TEN SHILLINGS' repeated in each corner and the printer's imprint at the foot of the note.
