| Obverse description | Black letterpress print on red and yellow guilloche underprint with red serial numbers. A donkey cart vignette occupies the left portion, the colonial seal of the Bahamas — bearing the legend SIGILLUM PROVIDENTIA C^ETERARUMQUE BAHAMA INSULARVM EXPULSIS PIRATIS RESTITUTA COMMERCIA — is centred, and a bush scene fills the right. Commissioner of Currency and Receiver General signature panels appear at the foot of the note. |

| Reverse description | Printed entirely in red, the reverse is dominated by two large interlocking guilloche rosettes at centre bearing the inscription TEN SHILLINGS on a lathe-work band, flanked at left and right by bold numeral-and-solidus denominational counters reading 10/- each set within elaborate scalloped cartouches. A horizontal panel along the lower margin carries the issuer title THE BAHAMAS GOVERNMENT in serif capitals, the whole design executed in fine engine-turned lathe work. |
