Obverse description Black letterpress print on red and yellow guilloche underprint with red serial numbers. A donkey cart vignette occupies the left portion, the colonial seal of the Bahamas — bearing the legend SIGILLUM PROVIDENTIA C^ETERARUMQUE BAHAMA INSULARVM EXPULSIS PIRATIS RESTITUTA COMMERCIA — is centred, and a bush scene fills the right. Commissioner of Currency and Receiver General signature panels appear at the foot of the note.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red, the reverse is dominated by two large interlocking guilloche rosettes at centre bearing the inscription TEN SHILLINGS on a lathe-work band, flanked at left and right by bold numeral-and-solidus denominational counters reading 10/- each set within elaborate scalloped cartouches. A horizontal panel along the lower margin carries the issuer title THE BAHAMAS GOVERNMENT in serif capitals, the whole design executed in fine engine-turned lathe work.
