The Commonwealth coat of arms appears as a vignette to the left, with the denomination numeral to the right, the whole surrounded by intricate guilloche border panels repeating "10 SHILLINGS" in each corner.

Popis rubu	Printed in green, the reverse carries a central vignette of the Goulburn Weir irrigation works near Nagambie, Victoria, set within an elaborate ornate frame of lathe-work guilloche. Denomination numerals and inscriptions are repeated in the surrounding border panels, with "TEN" and "10" appearing at intervals along all four margins.
