Reverse description The reverse presents a finely modelled portrait bust of Baron Edmond de Rothschild facing slightly left, rendered in high relief with meticulous detail to his full beard, facial features, and formal attire. The portrait occupies the majority of the coin's field, conveying a dignified and lifelike likeness consistent with known photographic representations of the Baron. To the left of the portrait, a Hebrew inscription in two lines reads אבי הישוב, meaning 'Father of the Settlement', serving as an honorific epithet. The field is otherwise unadorned, allowing the sculptural quality of the effigy to dominate. The design is executed in the fine proof style characteristic of Israel Government Mint commemorative issues.
