| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Queen Salote Tupou III, wearing a pearl necklace, her hair styled in a low chignon. The effigy is rendered in high relief with strong modelling characteristic of the engraver James Berry. The legend SALOTE TUPOU III curves along the upper periphery, while the date 1967 appears in the lower field. The coin border is decorated with a continuous row of beads. |
