| Obverse description | At the upper center, the Imperial chrysanthemum mon — the sixteen-petaled chrysanthemum seal serving as the Emperor's personal emblem — is prominently displayed. Below it, the central round hole is flanked by the Chinese numeral inscription denoting the denomination, with a stylized paulownia flower seal (kiri mon) positioned beneath the aperture. The entire composition is enclosed within a decorative border of ornamental elements characteristic of Meiji- and Taisho-era Japanese coinage design. |
