Reverse description The reverse presents a central oval cartouche or shield-shaped blank field, framed by a wreath composed of rice ears tied at the base, with two stylised winged figures or cranes extending symmetrically to either side. The upper arc of the field bears the legend '大日本' (Great Japan) in kanji, while the lower arc reads '昭和十三年' (Year 13 of Shōwa) in kanji. The outer border consists of alternating rectangular segments forming a decorative frame, with a secondary beaded border at the rim.
