| Obverse description | A coiled imperial dragon, rendered in high relief, occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle. The dragon is depicted facing left with scales, claws, and flowing whiskers finely detailed in the Meiji engraving style. Japanese characters reading 'Great Japan' and the reign year of Meiji appear to the left and right of the beaded circle respectively, while the denomination '10 SEN' is inscribed in Latin characters along the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a reeded border. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features the Imperial chrysanthemum mon, the 16-petal flower serving as the Emperor's royal seal, centrally positioned and flanked on either side by smaller chrysanthemum blossoms. Encircling the design along the rim are graceful branches of paulownia (Paulownia tomentosa), with their characteristic heart-shaped leaves and floral sprays forming a wreath-like border. The denomination is inscribed vertically in the field in classical Chinese characters, reading '十錢' (10 Sen). A beaded inner circle separates the central motifs from the decorative border. |
