Reverse description A crowned double-headed eagle displayed with wings spread, facing left, upon whose breast is charged an escutcheon divided per pale: dexter with the arms of Saluzzo (a bend), sinister with the arms of Foix (two cows passant). The eagle is rendered in the heraldic style characteristic of Italian Renaissance coinage, with bold, deeply struck relief. The reverse legend in Latin encircles the design and serves as a scriptural motto, framed by decorative stops.
